I was very lucky, early in my career, to travel with the Tulsa
Oklahoma National Guard to Stamford England for allied war games. At the
time I was the only television news photographer allowed to take a full sized
video camera into an American military jet. Right as this picture was taken I was being advised,
in the unlikely event of having to eject, to get the camera off my
shoulder before ejecting or I could be killed...Now they tell me! I will never
forget that flight, we did two barrel rolls and pulled 7 g's while following a
British Harrier jet. It was the most thrilling and fastest hour of my life. What
a great bunch of men and women, they treated my reporter and me like family.
